Dan Casamatta, "Man, those were the days. The quartet originally formed in 1991 to sing Frosty the Snowman on the Chapter Holiday Show. Tim and I had joined the chapter that year and it was our very first quartet. We started with Jon Hoekema on tenor and Bill Bell on bass. That next year, we did 30 performances or so as the Music Man quartet at the Grand Rapids Civic Theater where we picked up my buddy Steve Brown on tenor (Jon was a student at Calvin and couldn't put in the time) and we were the mic testers at the quartet contest at the Spring Convention. I remember when we went to Roger Lewis' house in Battle Creek for coaching and he asked us if we had "anything else" to sing (after we showed him our contest set). Very scary. We competed for a couple of years until Bill Bell moved to Columbus (he later passed away) and we then picked up John Bloomquist on bass, where we really came into our own. Then, John moved to Phoenix and viola."
