THEY’RE BACK! International’s Webcast

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

The 2006 International Convention’s webcast is back!  The next morning this message on their site…
Webcast Homepage

Webcast forecast Thursday, July 6: Today is looking like a great day for a high quality webcast. After a lot of hard work and effort from many different teams here in Indy it looks like we are in the clear to send out a clean webcast feed to the Internet. As well we have added a few nice updates to the website based on feedback given to our support team. Due to the large amount of email and phone calls yesterday we have been unable to respond directly with each individual. Please connect to the webcast and see how it works for you today. Again we thank you all for your patience and support and we wish you all the best.

I’m listening to the webcast now as I write, this is my first experience of Internationals and it’s great! I’m only listening to the free lower quality audio but it’s still fun. I would definitly recommend one of the better quality paid versions (video too!) but if you just want to check it out get the free version first. Go to…

To all webcast subscribers

Wednesday, July 5, 2006, 3.30 EDT

We’ve been testing the webcast total package since Sunday night, July 2, an. All systems were go, and there appeared to be no problems. Late Tuesday evening there appeared a minor glitch or two. Our technical support crew began trying to locate the problem, but to no avail. We currently have about 20 people working on the problem, and we are hopefully making progress. However, we are not announcing any time for the problem to be resolved, other than “as soon as possible.”

Thanks to our Technical Producer, who is recording everything that is originating fro the stage, we have a “good as new” archive copy. Our primary focus is to get the original webcast up and running as soon as possible. As soon as we do, we will announce it n the webcast site and Harmonet when we expect to deliver the first session for he Quartet Quarter-Finals. Should the problem be unresolved by the end of the day, we will make an announcement about replaying the second session of the Quartet Quarter-Finals..

The Operations Manager of this facility is taking personal charge of getting our problem resolved; that is the priority level this happening has been given Unfortunately I cannot be more specific, but I do not want to give you an estimate, only to fail to meet those expectations.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I share your frustration. Trust me when I say we are doing our best to bring you the finest performances our hobby has to offer. You are the greatest web audience on earth, and thank you for your understanding.
