Harmony Transfer 2009 Senior Champs, a Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and Battle Creek Chapters quartet. The quartet first performed together on the Muskegon Chapter's 1994 show under the name of Mike's Testers. Later that year they changed their name to Harmony Transfer. The quartet has sung all over the West Michigan area and regularly participates in quartet contests in the Pioneer District. Bari Dave Kutter is from Kentwood Michigan. Dave originally sang baritone with the Funiture City Chord Company from Grand Rapids Chapter and joined Harmony Transfer when Tim Koeppe left the group. He was an engineer with Steelcase but is now happily retired. He and his wife Diane have 2 daughters. Bass Joel Prather has been barbershopping since 1974 when he sang with the Lansing Chapter. Joel has sung for many years and has experience with choirs, male choruses, glee clubs, and a number of quartets starting in high school. Joel is married to Jan and they have a daughter Heidi and son Gordy. Joel is know locally as the "Asparagus Man" for the tender asparagus grown on his farm in Mears. Lead Mike O'Donnell is a State Farm Insurance agent in Grand Rapids. Mike is a 31 year member of the Grand Rapids Chapter as well as being a member of the Muskegon Chapter. He is current director of the Muskegon Shoreline Chorus and has also directed the Lansing Chapter Capitol City Chordsmen. Mike is a certified competition judge in the Barbershop Society. Married to Jan they love to rescue Greyhounds and Jan will be happy to show you pictures if you ask! Tenor Alan Coombs first started barbershopping in 1980 when he joined the Muskegon Chapter. He has been a Chapter Officer and has sung in several quartets including Chord Production and the Lumbertown Chordsmen. Alan and his wife Phyllis moved to Muskegon in 1976 as an engineer for Consumer's Energy. They and their two children enjoy camping during the summer at some of Michigan's beautiful State Parks. |
